Kristans Afleet Conquers the Beulah Park Feature

Owner-trainer Dale Shade’s
Kristans Afleet shrugged off the challenge of late-closing Sheikh and Awe in
the final furlongs to be victorious in the Beulah Park featured race on
Saturday. Seven allowance fillies and mares set sail from the six furlong
starting point as Kristans Afleet forged to the front with Fuzz E Delight
and Red Hot Helen in close pursuit. Despite constant pace pressure, Kristans
Afleet began to pull away as the field straightened into the lane. Sheikh
and Awe made a strong run in the final furlong but could not bull her way by
as the finish line quickly approached. The running time over the fast track
was 1:12 3/5.
Ridden by Edgar Paucar, Kristans Afleet returned $15.20, $5.00 and $3.00.
Sheikh and Awe battled gamely for second and paid $2.80 and $2.20. Fuzz E
Delight faded back to third and had a show pay of $3.00.

Chief Runamuck Leads The Way In Feature

Runamuck, under a well-timed ride by Marco Ccamaque, rallied to power past
the pacesetter Whitmark in the final stages to be victorious in the featured
race at Beulah Park on Friday. Nine Ohio bred maidens battled as Whitmark
darted to the front and built a large lead in the opening furlongs.
Restrained in the middle of the pack, Chief Runamuck began to make his move
as the field turned into the homestretch. Chief Runamuck past Whitmark with
less than a 1/16 of a mile left to win by ½ length. The running time for the
5 ½ furlongs over the good track was 1:07 2/5
Trained by Nancy Thornton, Chief Runamuck paid $7.40, $4.60 and $3.80.
Whitmark faded to second and returned $14.00 and $6.40. Raw Win finished
third and had a show payoff of $4.00.

Valid Respect Strong In Victory At Beulah Park

JBB Stable’s Valid Respect
repelled the challenge of late closing Sliver Award in the final 1/16 of a
mile to be victorious in the featured race at Beulah Park on Wednesday. Nine
classy claimers clashed as Regency’s Honor sprinted sharply to the lead with
half of the heavily favored entry Ashtons Dreams in hot pursuit. Settling
behind the front-runners, Valid Respect dashed his way through traffic and
engulfed the leaders with less than a 1/4 of a mile to go. Valid Respect
reserved plenty in the tank to win by a nose in a running time of 1:41 for
the 1 mile over the sloppy track.
Ridden by Paul Melancon for
trainer Kenneth Morgan, Valid Respect paid $18.80, $8.60 and $6.20. Sliver
Award finished a hard charging second and returned $4.80 and $5.40. Don’t
Hang up rallied on for third and had a show pay of $7.00. The favored entry
of Ashtons Dreams and Classy Jack Clark finished a disappointing fifth and
seventh respectively.

Wheaton One Splashes Home A Huge Winner

Elaine Gross’ Wheaton One
slowly reeled in the pacesetters in the final 100 yards to pull the upset in
the featured race at Beulah Park on Tuesday. Eleven claimers squared off in
the sloppy going as Our Cherokee, Stormy Hostage and Free to Run dueled
through the furiously fast early fractions. Settling comfortably off of the
early leaders, Wheaton One swung into action through the turn and wore down
the leaders in the home stretch. Wheaton One won by 3/4 lengths in a running
time of 1:05 1/5 for the 5 ½ furlongs.
Piloted by Steve Capeles for trainer Reid Gross, Wheaton One paid $72.60,
$17.00 and $17.40. Our Cherokee dug in gamely for second and returned $5.00
and $4.80. Conte Amour closed strongly for third and had a payoff of $4.60

One Eyed Jackie Strides Away To Victory In Feature

Ruth Prescott’s One Eyed
Jackie made her return to Ohio a profitable one by drawing away to a
convincing victory in the featured race at Beulah Park on Monday. Seven
allowance runners battled as Chandlersthename darted away to a large early
lead. Undaunted by the slow start, One Eyed Jackie began to pick up the
leader at the top to the stretch and slowly edged away in the final furlong.
One Eyed Jackie pulled away to win by 2 1/4 lengths in a running time of
1:00 2/5 for the 5 furlongs over the good track.
Ridden by Juan Enriquez for trainer Calcy Prescott, One Eyed Jackie paid
$9.00, $4.40 and $3.60. R Nurse C stalked the pace before finishing second
and returned $8.40 and $6.20. Mandy G rally mildly for third and had a show
payoff of $4.00

Golden Izzy Sparkles In Beulah Park Feature

Owner-trainer Dale Shade’s
Golden Izzy settled comfortably off of the early pace before rallying
strongly to be victorious in the featured race at Beulah Park on Saturday.
Ten Ohio bred fillies and mares squared off as Liberty Mill, Maddie Miller
and Regal’s Big Girl dueled for the early lead. Unhurried, Golden Izzy raced
just behind the leaders before powering to the lead with less than a 1/4 of
a mile to go and drew away to a 2 ½ length win. The running time for the 5 ½
furlongs over the muddy surface was 1:06.
Ridden by Edgar Paucar, Golden Izzy paid $15.00, $5.60 and $4.80. Pink Meow
closed strongly for second and returned $3.80 and $3.40. Longshot Hi Dollar
Haul finished third and had a payoff of $12.60.
