Five Cousins Strolls To Victory At Beulah Park

Cousins took charge early and never looked back in his feature race win at
Beulah Park on Saturday. Seven claimers dueled through the sloppy going with
Five Cousins dictating the early pace while Air Forbes and Lu Lu Ra Ra
followed in close pursuit. Five Cousins opened up his lead around the turn
and saved plenty of energy to win by ¾ of a length. The running time for the
five furlongs was 58 4/5.
Ridden by Ivan Gonzalez
for Beulah Park’s leading trainer Reid Gross, Five Cousins paid $4.00, $3.20
and $2.80. Air Forbes rallied on for second and returned $6.60 and $5.80.
Wheaton One closed from last to finish third and paid his backers $4.40.

A Bit Foolish Springs Upset In Beulah Feature

Joyce Brown’s A Bit
Foolish stalked the fast early pace before pushing by in the final strides
to win the featured race at Beulah Park on Wednesday. Nine claimers dueled
as Wickedsisofthewest, Wicked Willie, Me Get It and Ben’s Lady tussled for
early supremacy. Moving around the final turn Wicked Willie kicked clear
with Wickedsisofthewest chasing in second. In the final 200 yards A Bit
Foolish collared the leader with a rush and edged clear to a neck victory.
The running time for the one mile and seventy yards was 1:46 3/5.
Owner Joyce Brown said, “
I watched them turn for home and shouted here she comes. It was like she
sprouted wings.”
Ridden by Ramon Luna for
trainer William Taylor, A Bit Foolish paid $37.40, $13.40 and $7.60. Wicked
Willie held on to second and returned $4.60 and $3.80. Wickedsisofthewest
finished third and had a payoff of $5.40.

Dove Mountain Towers Over Competition In Feature

Owner-trainer Lynn
Wilson’s Dove Mountain improved his record to an amazing six for ten
lifetime at Beulah Park after recording a victory in the Tuesday feature.
Six claimers clashed as Dove Mountain and American Boy dueled down the
backstretch. Moving into the turn Dove Mountain edged away from American Boy
and drew off to a 2-¼-length win. The running time for the 5 ½ furlongs over
the fast track was 1:05 3/5.
Ridden by Edgar Paucar,
Dove Mountain returned $6.80, $3.80 and $2.40. Prospective Wish chased the
pacesetters to finish second and paid $4.00 and $2.60. Longstreet closed
well for third and returned his backers $2.80 as the wagering favorite
