Astor Street Drives To Victory In Feature

Margaret Lazuka’s Astor
Street closed with a rush in the final ½ of a mile to nose out favorite
Silver Award in the featured race at Beulah Park on Saturday. Eight starter
allowance foes set sail as Silver Award and longshot Nobody Can dueled for
the early lead. Well back in the early stages, Astor street began to uncork
his rally as the field began to turn for home. Strung out 5-wide through the
turn, the Hawthorne invader slowly reeled in the pacesetter to win by a
nose. The running time for the 1 1/8 miles over the fast track was 1:52.
Ridden by Shelly Moran for
trainer William Lazuka, Astor Street returned $13.40, $5.40 and $3.40.
Silver Award dug in for second and paid $3.40 and $2.40. London Lord closed
well for third and had a payoff of $2.60.

'Foxy' Struts Her Stuff In Beulah Park Feature

William Yee’s Foxy Gray
galloped comfortably from start to finish to be victorious in the featured
race at Beulah Park on Friday. Seven Ohio bred filly and mare allowance
runners dueled as Foxy Gray and Cracklin Red Rosie dashed to the front in
the opening furlongs. Turning into the lane Foxy Gray disposed of her foe
and preceded to pull away to a 3 ½ length victory. The running time for the
six furlongs over the fast track was 1:11 4/5.
Piloted by Jorge Collazo Sr. for trainer Enrique Calderon, Foxy Gray paid
$13.00, $5.00 and $3.00. Pink Meow rallied strongly for second an returned
$3.40 and $2.60. Puddles Reflection finished third and had a payoff of
$5.40.

Thinksheshot Stylish In Victory At Beulah Park

M.Y. Stables Inc.’s
Thinksheshot cruised to victory in the featured race at Beulah Park on
Wednesday. Seven Ohio bred allowance runners battled as longshot Poco Rey
and Jeramiah John sprinted to the front. Settling just off of the pace,
Thinksheshot swept his way to the front at the top of the lane and drew away
to a 3 1/4 length victory. The running time for the six furlongs over the
fast track was 1:11.
Ridden by Marco Ccamaque for trainer Mike Nance, Thinksheshot paid $9.20,
$4.00 and $2.60. Twilight Hunter rallied for second and returned $3,40 and
$2.60. K O River Crossing closed strongly for third and had a payoff of
$2.80

Marys Mon Game In Victory At Beulah Park

Loretta Sprouse’s Marys Mon
out-dueled heavy favorite Bucksweep from start to finish to win the featured
race at Beulah Park on Tuesday. Ten claimer squared off as Bucksweep, half
of the heavily favored entry, dashed to the lead with Marys Mon in close
pursuit. Turning for home Marys Mon forged to the front and outran Bucksweep
to the wire to win by ½ of a length. The running time for the 5 ½ furlongs
over the fast track was 1:04 4/5.
Ridden by Ivan Gonzalez for trainer Reid Gross, Marys Mon paid $13.20, $4.60
and $3.40. Both halves of the entry finished second and third and returned
$3.00 and $2.60.

Rose Wars Captures
Victory In Beulah Park Feature

Culler’s Rose Wars used his tactical speed to an advantage in winning the
featured race at Beulah Park on Monday. Seven claimers battled as Lite Toast
and Image of a Cat dueled for the early lead. Unpressured early, Rose Wars
swung three wide as the field turned for home and surged past the
front-runners in the final 1/16 of a mile to win by 3/4 of a length. The
running time for the 5 ½ furlongs over the fast track was 1:03 4/5 which
ties for the fastest time of the Winter meet.
Ridden by Marco Ccamaque for trainer William Cowans, Rose Wars paid $6.00,
$2.80 and $2.20. Image of a Cat hung on for second and returned $2.40 and
$2.10. Lite Toast faded to third and had a payoff of $2.60.
Races shortened for
weather: Beulah Park ran today after a delay of its first race post
time. Races 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 which were originally scheduled for 6 furlongs
were shortened to 5 1/2 furlongs due to track conditions in the chute.
