Take Your Pick Takes Charge in Feature

Sydney Racing LLC’s Take Your Pick
stalked a hotly contested pace before
dashing by the leaders in the final furlongs
to be victorious in the featured race at
Beulah Park on Saturday. Seven Ohio-bred
allowance runners battled as Turnpike Mike
and Valley of Death dueled for the early
lead. Midway through the turn Take Your Pick
swung into action and tackled the leaders
with less that ¼ of a mile to go. Winning by
a neck, Take Your Pick covered the six
furlongs over the muddy track in 1:13 1/5.
Ridden by Edgar Paucar for trainer Wayne
Mogge, Take Your Pick paid $6.40, $2.80 and
$2.40. Peggys Favorite closed well for
second and returned $3.00 and $2.40.
Turnpike Mike faded to third and paid his
backers $2.80.
Live racing returns to Beulah Park on Monday
with nine live races. Monday’s Fortune 6
carryover stands at $50,000, sponsored by
WinTicket.com. There were no unique
25-cent winners on Saturday, a 5 of 6
25-cent ticket paid $500.90.

'Prospector' Strikes Gold In Grove City

Patricia Raley’s Rob D. Prospector took
charge from the beginning and powered away
strongly to win the Friday feature at Beulah
Park. Nine allowance runners did battle with
Rob D. Prospector sprinting to the front and
cleared off to a 14-1/2 length victory. Rob
D. Prospector covered the 5-1/2 furlongs
over the wet fast track in 1:06.
Ridden by Cesar Camaque for trainer Jeff
Raley, Rob D. Prospector paid $4.20, $2.80
and $2.60 as the wagering favorite. Bank’s
Peak stalked the pacesetter to finish second
and returned $4.40 and $3.40. Locker closed
strongly for third and paid his backers
$2.60.
Live racing returns to Beulah Park on
Saturday with eight live races. Saturday
starts the Fortune 6 wager. A 25 cent pick 6
with a $50,000 jackpot. First post time is

Muirfield Farm’s Doll of the Year stalked
the speedy leaders before taking the short
way home to win the Wednesday feature at
Beulah Park. Five allowance runners squared
off as wagering favorite She’llgoinaminute
sprinted to the early lead with Rio Branco
following intently from second. Heading for
home, Doll of the Year hugged the rail as
the field straightened away in the home
stretch. Drawing away to a 6-1/2-length win,
Doll of the Year covered the 5-1/2 furlongs
over the muddy track in 1:08.
Ridden by Christian Rojas for trainer Laurie
Pratt, Doll of the Year returned $7.80,
$4.60 and $2.10. Lovely Risk closed well for
second and paid $3.80 and $2.20. Rio Branco
faded to third and returned her backers
$2.60.

M. Y. Stables, Inc’s Meggy Girl improved
to 3-for-3 over the Beulah Park oval with
her victory in the featured race on Tuesday.
Eleven claimers clashed as Hatchetsflyingirl
and Fargo’s Promise dueled for early
supremacy. Stalking the front-runners, Meggy
Girl dashed into contention around the turn
and took control with less than 70 yards to
run. Winning by 1-1/2-lengths, Meggy Girl
ran the six furlongs over the wet fast track
in 1:14 4/5.
Ridden by Edgar Paucar for trainer Mike
Nance, Meggy Girl paid $6.40, $3.40 and
$2.80. Fargo’s Promise held gamely to second
and returned $7.80 and $5.40. Hers Funny
closed strongly for third and paid her

Thomas Thornton’s Goodys Summer settled
behind the early pace before storming home
in the final furlongs to win the featured
race at Beulah Park on Monday. Ten Ohio-bred
allowance runners squared off as Regal’s Big
Girl grabbed the lead and drew off early.
Turning for home Goodys Summer began to
quicken and blew past the leaders in the
final 100 yards. Winning by 1 length, Goodys
Summer covered the 5-1/2 furlongs over the
fast track in 1:07 1/5.
Ridden by Luis Gonzalez for trainer Nancy
Thornton, Goodys Summer paid $58.40, $19.40
and $12.20. Regal’s Big Girl faded to second
and returned $10.80 and $8.00. Check the
Math closed strongly for third and returned
her backers $4.40.

M. Y. Stables, Inc.’s Just Michel
improved her record to 7 for 11 lifetime at
Beulah Park with a rail-skimming victory in
the Saturday feature. Eight fillies and
mares left the gate as Golden Izzy and
Sailor’s Dream dueled for the early lead.
Turning into the lane, a patient Edgar
Paucar guided Just Michel through an opening
along the rail and she dashed away to a
2-1/2-length win. Just Michel covered the
5-1/2 furlongs over the fast track in 1:06
1/5.
Trained by Mike Nance, Just Michel paid
$4.00, $2.40 and $2.60 as the wagering
favorite. Bag of Quarters stalked the
leaders to finish second and returned $11.00
and $6.40. Golden Izzy faded to third and
had a payoff of $9.40.
