M.Y. Stables, Inc’s Just Michel settled in her customary spot near the rear of the field before dashing past the pacesetters to victory on Saturday. Five top-notch allowance fillies and mares squared of f as Jackie’s Hope and Sea of Promises battled for the early lead. Midway through the lane Just Michel swung into action and roared past the leaders in the final 70 yards. Winning by ¾ of a length Just Michel covered the six furlongs over the sloppy track in a swift 1:12 2/5.

Ridden by Edgar Paucar for trainer Mike Nance, Just Michel paid $3.40, $2.20 and $2.10 as the wagering favorite. Jackie’s Hope settled for second and returned $4.20 and $3.40. Bag of Quarters chase the pacesetters to finish third and paid his backers $3.40.

Moving through the lane Noble Cup wrestled the lead away from Endless Fanfare and drew away strongly. Winning by 1 ¼ lengths Noble Cup covered the five furlongs over the muddy track in 1:01 2/5

Ridden by Luis Martinez, Jr. for trainer William Cowans, Noble Cup paid $7.40, $3.60 and $2.40. Dry Basin stalked the leaders to finish second and returned $12.20 and $6.80. Smacker closed well for third and paid his backers $2.60.
