Lifes Crown Victorious In Beulah Park Feature

Owner-trainer Roy Cundiff’s Lifes Crown
rallied past the pacesetters to win the featured race at Beulah Park on
Saturday. A field of ten starter allowance runners looked on as Kiss Me
Goodbye and Goldharbor Express dueled through the opening stages of the
race. Lifes Crown made his move turning for home and was able to forge past
the fading pacesetter to win by 1-¼ lengths. The running time for the six
furlongs over the muddy track was 1:14.
Ridden by Eddie Zambrana, Lifes Crown paid $9.20, $6.20 and $5.00. Lord Gold
finished second and returned $10.20 and $6.60. October Blues rallied for
third and had a payoff of $5.60

R S Express Gets Home In Time To Win Friday

Owner-trainer Jerry Rawlins’ R S Express ran
down pacesetter Here Comes Bragg in the final 100 yards to win the featured
race at Beulah Park on Friday. R S Express broke well from the gate and
quickly ran past a field of twelve Ohio-bred allowance runners to win by 2 ¼
lengths. The running time for the six furlongs was 1:13 1/5 over the sloppy
surface.
Ridden by Joseph Sanchez, R S Express paid $14.80, $7.80 and $5.40. Best
Bird hung on for second and returned $13.00 and $8.00. Tooitus finished
third and had a pay of $10.20

Watkins’ Award Yu drew away impressively in the Thursday feature at Beulah.
A field of eight Ohio-bred allowance runners looked on as Award Yu stormed
to the top and never looked back. Award Yu won by 3 lengths in a time of
1:13 for the six furlongs over the muddy surface.
Ridden by Joseph Sanchez, Award Yu paid $5.20, $3.00 and $2.40. Mama’s Gotta
Go ran second and returned $2.80 and $2.40. Lil Miss Sophie rallied for
third and had a payoff of $2.80.

K O River Crossing KO’s The Field In Feature

Humphries’ K O River Crossing powered past Half Diamond in the final
furlongs to win the feature race Tuesday at Beulah Park. A field of nine
Ohio bred allowance runners watched as Half Diamond gave way to the fast
finishing K O River Crossing in the final 30 yards. The time for the six
furlongs was 1:13 2/5.
Ridden by leading jockey
Marco Ccamaque, K O River Crossing paid $18.00, $9.20 and $3.80. Half
Diamond held on to second and returned $7.80 and $3.00. Favorite Twilight
Hunter rallied for third and had a payoff of $2.20.

Martha Hunt’s
Nipeminthebud scored a 2-¾-length victory in the first of two trails in the
All American Quarter Horse Congress Maturity. The time of 21.964 seconds for
the four hundred and forty yards was the faster of the two trials.
Ridden by Bobby Ransom
for trainer Vann Heywood, Nipeminthebud paid $5.00, $4.60 and $2.80 as the
favorite. Global Bug was second and returned $7.60 and $5.40. Special Risk
was third and had a pay of $10.00.

Kpax blazed his way to
the fastest qualifier spot in the Derby Trial. Ridden by Larry Payne, Kpax
ran the four hundred and forty yards in a time of 22.426. Sheri Loy trained
Kpax for owner Bobby Cox.
Hope for Fame nosed out
Cigarette Buds to become the fastest qualifier in the Futurity trials.
Ridden by Bobby Ransom for trainer Vann Heywood, Hope for Fame finished the
four hundred yards in 20.433 seconds.
In a big day for jockeys,
both Larry Payne and Bobby Ransom scored four victories on the Beulah Park
Card. Larry Payne started his day with Kpax ($18.20) in the first race
followed by General La Jolla ($8.20) in the second race. In race five, Payne
guided A Down Right Runaway ($19.60) to the winner circle followed by
Dillions Dashing ($19.60) in the sixth race.
Bobby Ransom started with
Whata Snow Man ($7.60) in the third race followed by Nipeminthebud ($5.00)
in race four. Ransom completed his day with Hope for Fame ($6.80) in the
ninth race and Diamond Girl Saga ($6.00) in the tenth and final.

Second Shift Drives To The Winner Circle

Cundiff's Second Shift led all the way in the Sunday feature at Beulah Park.
Speeding her way to the front, Second Shift was able to open a clear lead
and hold off late closer Sheikn'nnotstirred. The running time for the five
furlongs was 1:00. This marked the ninth victory in twenty-seven starts for
the four-year-old Kentucky bred daughter of Victory Speech.
Ridden by Hector Rosario
Jr., Second Shift paid $5.40, $3.20 and $2.80 as the wagering favorite.
Sheikn'nnotstirred rallied for second and returned $7.40 and $4.80.
Printer's Princess finished third and had a payoff of $5.20.
