Hope for Fame Shines In The Beulah Park Feature

Tommy Bass’ Hope for Fame
surged to the front at the wire to win the Grade 3 All American Quarter
Horse Congress Futurity Saturday at Beulah Park. As darkness began to
settle, Eye Dash broke well before being passed by Hope for Fame at the
wire. The running time for the four hundred yards was 20.38 on the wet fast
track.
Ridden by Tad Leggett for
Trainer Vann Heywood, Hope for Fame paid $8.60, $5.00 and $3.20. Cigarette
Buds closed with a rush for second and returned $11.40 and $5.40. Favorite
Eye Dash faded to third and had a payoff of $2.00
In the Grade 3 All
American Quarter Horse Congress Derby, Callies Corona pulled the mild upset
beating favorite Kpax in the final twenty yards. Ridden by Tad Leggett for
his second win on the card, Callies Corona paid $22.80
In the Grade 3 All
American Quarter Horse Congress Maturity, A Down Right Runaway, second
fastest qualifier, upset the favorite Nipeminthebud in the final strides.
Ridden by Larry Payne, A Down Right Runaway returned $12.60

Lock Tender Overpowers The Field In Feature

In
Front Racing LLC’s Lock Tender coasted to victory in the Beulah Park
featured race on Friday. A field of eight Ohio-bred competitors surveyed as
Lock Tender raced on the lead from the beginning, edging away to a 6-length
victory. The running time of 1:12 1/5 for the six furlongs was the third
fastest of the fall meet.
Trained by Thistledown based trainer Gary Johnson, and ridden by leading
jockey Marco Ccamaque, Lock Tender returned $8.20, $4.00 and $2.80. Chuck
Yeager finished with a rush for second and paid $4.60 and $3.00. Bri’s Bad
Boy was a belated third and had a payoff of $3.00.

Crafty Jay Pulls Off The Upset In Feature

Alex Moretti’s Crafty Jay pulled away to an
easy 2-length victory in the featured race at Beulah Park. Crafty Jay was
back by jockey Hector Rosario Jr. while Truly Honored set a quick pace.
Crafty Jay accelerated around the final turn and cleared off down the lane.
The running time of 1:12 for the six furlongs was the second fastest time of
the meet.
Trained by Albert Palacios, Crafty Jay paid $15.40, $7.60 and $5.20. Trading
Hours battled for second and returned $11.80 and $6.80. Southtown Slew was
third and had a show pay of $3.00.

Chief Cahill Conquers Leg Two Of The Bluegrass Warrior Distance Series

Reuben Peppers’ Chief Cahill easily
defeated the field in the featured race Tuesday at Beulah Park. The
eleven competitors of the Bluegrass Warrior Distance Series looked
on as Chief Cahill opened up an early lead on the field before
pulling away to an impressive 19-¾-length victory. The running time
for the 1 ¼ mile was 2:06 3/5.
The Bluegrass Warriors Distance
Series is a set of five races for claiming horses. The claiming
price ranges from as low as $4,000 to as high as $10,000. Chief
Cahill has won the first two legs and hopes to make it three in a
row on November 9th at the distance of 1-½ miles. The final leg will
be contested on December 21st at the distance of 2 miles. |
Ridden by leading rider Marco Ccamaque for
trainer Robert Cline, Chief Cahill paid $3.80, $3.00 and $2.40 as the
odds-on favorite. Regal by Design was a distant second and returned $5.60
and $3.40. Fightin Sixty finished third and had a show price of $3.40.

Quiet Soul Gamely Wins The Beulah Park Feature

Mary Ann Thomas’ Quiet Soul out dueled
favorite Affirmload down the lane to win the Sunday feature at Beulah Park.
Breaking swiftly from the gate, Affirmload seemed to have the race won at
the top of the lane. Quiet Soul swung into action and wore down the favorite
in the final 75 yards to win by a nose. The running time of 1:42 for the
mile was the second fast time of the meet for that distance.
Ridden by leading jockey Marco Ccamaque for trainer Karen Thomas, Quiet Soul
paid $8.80, $3.00 and $3.40 as the third choice in the wagering. Affirmload
was a game second and returned $2.80 and $2.80. U B the Judge rallied for
third and had a payoff of $3.40.
